We export more than 150,000 tonnes of meat products and by-products each year, all of which are processed at our nine plants located around New Zealand. We have over 800 international sales contracts and strong relationships with leading supermarkets and food retailers worldwide.
AFFCO meat has honest origins. All our meat is sourced from New Zealand farms, and our farmers must meet strict animal welfare standards in order to supply us. Our farmers operate under the New Zealand Farm Assurance programme (NZFAP), providing traceability from farm gate to plate. Our processing facilities are constantly audited by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) to ensure we comply with one of the strictest food safety systems in the world. AFFCO enjoys a worldwide reputation for safe, hygienically processed products delivered to the world.
Our natural meat is produced following internationally-recognised best practice. New Zealand has some of the strictest standards in the world. We provide assurances for integrity, bio-security, environmental sustainability and animal health and welfare, in line with the New Zealand Farm Assurance Programme (NZFAP).
AFFCO’s lamb and beef products are free-range. Our meat is free from hormone growth promotants and antibiotics. It is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which supports brain development, reduced inflammation and heart health and is high in beta-carotene/vitamin A, beneficial for our immune system and eye health. It is also a natural source of iron and B12.
