HOROTIU - ME23

AFFCO Horotiu has been extensively refurbished to maintain its pre-eminent position in the meat export industry. In 2005 the plant was rebuilt at a cost of NZ$18m and is now one of the the most modern beef plant in the Southern Hemisphere.

Situated in the Waikato, New Zealand's largest dairy farming region, Horotiu is one of the largest beef slaughter and processing facilities in New Zealand.

On the same site is AFFCO Horotiu's Rendering Plant. This manufacturing operation processes a sought after range of Protein Meals and Tallows which are exported to Asia. Meat and Bone Meal is used as an ingredient for Poultry Feed and Tallow is used in the manufacture of Soap.

AFFCO Horotiu has ISO 9002 certification and HACCP approval by MAF. It is certified for Halal slaughter and regularly audited by the USDA and EU.
