ANIMAL STATUS
Meeting customer food safety and quality standards is an essential aspect of AFFCO's business. Traceability of animal management is an imperative aspect of this. AFFCO strongly recommends that a completed and signed Animal Status Declaration accompany all store stock purchases and sales.
It is Government regulation that all suppliers must provide a signed declaration as to the health status of their animals being consigned to slaughter. A completed and signed declaration provides a true and accurate description of your animals at the point of consignment, plus an assurance to purchasers of our food products with respect to animal health and food safety. Declarations are also a requirement for continued market access.
Livestock delivered to a processing site without a completed and signed declaration will not allow AFFCO to meet market criteria and cannot be slaughtered. Animals may be returned to the point of consignment.
This new form supersedes all previous documentation and is the only declaration that is approved for use from March 31st 2001. All livestock consignments must have a declaration accompany them.
The AFFCO Animal Status Declaration form must accompany all consignments of livestock to AFFCO.
